The course consists of lectures covering project management as well as group dynamics. In addition there is one seminar where the students will practice group dynamics as well as one exercise where the students will analyse a business case for an IT investment.

Lärandemål
Many companies have recognized the benefits of executing more of their business in projects. Projects should be well defined with a specific goal to be reached within a certain time limit by a separate organization. The purpose of the course is to prepare the student to successfully participate in as well as lead and manage projects.
After the course is finished, the student should be able to:
- Develop and document a plan, including schedule, critical path analysis and risk assessment, for a comprehensive IT-project, following the PPS methodology- Define and describe critical project processes, according to the definitions of PMBOK
- Evaluate and discuss the vision, mission and objectives for a given project- Perform an investment analysis (business case analysis) for an IT-project, based on the PENG-method
- Describe a project lifecycle as well as the concepts of Value Management and Economic Value Added- Discuss the differences between leadership and management- Describe different roles of a leader
- Describe different strategies for leadership competition
- Apply different strategies to succeed in power games
- Define what a group is and describe how groups are created and developed

Examinator beslutar, baserat på rekommendation från KTH:s handläggare av stöd till studenter med funktionsnedsättning, om eventuell anpassad examination för studenter med dokumenterad, varaktig funktionsnedsättning.
Examinator får medge annan examinationsform vid omexamination av enstaka studenter.
När kurs inte längre ges har student möjlighet att examineras under ytterligare två läsår.
Övriga krav för slutbetyg
Passed written exam (TEN1; 3 hp) - grade A-F. Passed investment exercise (ÖVN1; 3 hp) - grade A-F. Final grade is calculated accordingly.
