On the basis of simple texts, the basics of French grammar are gone through. Pronunciation is practiced, as well as the ability to understand and speak in French. Reading comprehension exercises of simple texts with varying contents. Elements of realia regarding the culture of French-speaking countries, societies and technical development.

Intended learning outcomes
The expected learning outcomes for the course mainly lie at the levels A1/A2 according to CEFR, the Common European Framework of References for Languages.
On completion of the course, the student should be able to:
· use the language orally and in writing in simple everyday situations (A1)
· understand and account (in Swedish) for information from different elementary texts (A2)
· identify facts from authentic technology-related texts (A2)
· identify the main contents in a shorter oral presentation about well-known subjects (A2)
· account for basic facts and seek certain information about the culture of French-speaking countries, societies, and technical development

General entry requirements. Applicant to the course should not have prior knowledge in French.
