Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

The course offers repetition and strengthening of basic German skills, with a focus on reading and listening comprehension and oral communication in both everyday and professional situations, including topics such as sustainability issues. The course aims to develop a positive and confident approach to language learning. The course also covers intercultural aspects, such as academic and work-related culture, preparing students to communicate and work in international professional environments.

Intended learning outcomes

On completion of the course, the student should be able to:

1. Engage in dialogue in everyday situations and simple work situations

2. Understand and distinguish the main contents in clear standard speech about well-known subjects

3. Identify, and explain in Swedish, facts from simple authentic texts with technical content.

4. Give a short presentation on an engineering-related topic

Specific prerequisites

A1 level of German according to CEFR, for example the course German for Engineers - Basic Communication for Beginners.
