The course begins with students reflecting on and analysing their completed VFU period.
It then deals with subject-specific aspects such as how the subject has developed, different views on knowledge in the subject, the subject's connection (or lack thereof) to textbooks, the teacher's view of the subject and how the teacher's background influences this view.
Students continue to work on the didactics of their subject(s) and also relate teaching to learning theories.
After completing the course, students should be able to:
1 Reflect on their own experiences and describe subject-specific aspects of work-based teaching based on research.
2 Account for subject-specific aspects such as core content, knowledge, literacy and education, supported by research.
3 Analyse, critically review and discuss subject-specific steering documents, teaching materials and subject-specific assessment.
4 Evaluate the qualities and shortcomings of their own teaching design and identify their own subject views, values and attitudes that are important in teaching.
5 Analyse authentic learning situations and argue for what in teaching hinders and enables learning using different learning theories.
6 Identify the need for further knowledge and skills for future teaching and discuss how this can be met.
