Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

The content and pedagogy of the course consists of a combination of IT management theories and practical cases from different business contexts. The main parts of the course are:       

  • Business strategies and IT in firms and projects      
  • Organization and management with IT       
  • Systems for shared IT based business platforms       
  • IT tools for business and production processes       
  • IT and business value       
  • Mobility and IT use in organizations

Intended learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to extend the course participants knowledge about IT from a organizational and strategic business perspective. After finished course the student should be able to describe, analyze and discuss:      

  • the effects of information and communication technology on economics, business processes and work in organizations and firms.       
  • IT strategies for firms and projects with different business oriented prerequisites, goals and processes.

  • SEM1 - Seminars, 1.5 credits, grading scale: P, F
  • TEN1 - Examination, 4.5 credits, grading scale: P, F

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.

The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.

If the course is discontinued, students may request to be examined during the following two academic years.

Other requirements for final grade

Active participation on mandatory course events.Approved seminar paper. Approved home exam.
