ME2721 provides a broad overview of Corporate Finance starting from an international perspective.
Financial strategy is a key focus area of industrial businesses as well as other major corporations. It is essential for a company to: establish a sound financial structure, implement efficient allocation of financial resources, and to maintain continuous financial monitoring of operations. Successful companies deploy advanced corporate finance methods which provides financial stability as well as comparative and competitive advantages.
Specific areas covered in the course include: cash flow analysis, interest rates and the time value of money, valuation models for bonds and stocks, portfolio theory, risk management, decisions on capital structure, and financial options

The course includes in-depth studies of financial economics in connection with innovation, technical development and economical growth
Intended learning outcomes
The course intends to provide knowledge of corporate finance and financial markets. After passing the course, the students should be able to:
describe, explain and summarise the organisation of the financial market
analyse, design and implement a company's financing strategy
analyse and calculate how the company's capital structure can influence the company's value
justify, calculate and evaluate the cash flows of different investments and the financial consequences of these investments.
