Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

LCA and the EPS system. Driving forces for recycling. Legislation, customer requirements. Methods for disassembly and separation. Design rules for materials selection, joints, surface treatment and product configuration.

Intended learning outcomes

To provide basic knowledge of environmentally adapted product development, as well as design support methods for life cycle assessment and design for recycling.

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.

The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.

If the course is discontinued, students may request to be examined during the following two academic years.

Other requirements for final grade

Two projects: Essaylike test with questions announced 1 week ahead of test (PRO3; 3 cr), Project in product development in groups with oral and written presentation (PRO4; 3 cr)
