After completing the course, the student should be able to:
Plan, execute and analyze structural and mechanical characterization of materials.
Plan, execute and analyze thermal analysis of materials.
Choose suitable sample preparation methods and protocols for various materials characterization tasks.
Describe fundamental principles of key materials characterization techniques for engineering materials.
Describe state-of-the-art in materials characterization.
Choose the right materials characterization method to address specific engineering material’s questions.
Basic eligibility.
Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability. The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students. If the course is discontinued, students may request to be examined during the following two academic years.
