Intended learning outcomes
After you have passed the course you should be able to:
- Describe and explain the concept of risk from different research paradigms
- Have knowledge about the most common engineering methods for risk assessment
- Describe methods for environmental risks assessment and know the principles for how risks can be evaluated and communicated to different interest groups in decision processes
- Describe and use existing methods and tools for conflict resolution strategies in cases in environmental risk management
- Critically examine how information and knowledge are used by different interest groups in existing environmental conflicts
- Analyze different frames held by stakeholders in an ongoing conflict. This means evaluation of how different people and interest groups develop their views on an environmental conflict
- Be able to outline conflict resolution strategies for chosen environmental conflicts
