Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

Course increase student's knowledge of the industrial company's working organisation and interplay between its different functions such as production, maintenance, development, market, purchases etc, with a special focus on leadership.

Intended learning outcomes

After passing the course, the student should be able to:

  • describe industrial systems and working organisation's emergence and principles
  • describe and apply work organizational principles and methods for interplay between different functions
  • explain and separate managerial concepts, such as: TQM, lean production and outsourcing
  • explain principles and models for introduction of change of working organisations
  • explain different types of working parties ”roles in team”, group's development process
  • define, describe and illustrate different types of leadership styles and models
  • explain his own and others' behaviour in group dynamic processes, as leader and that led
  • apply work organization tools
