Intended learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student should be able to:
- Argue for the importance of continuous improvements and create a working method for continuous improvements within an organisation
- Explain methods and philosophies for improvements and compare applicability
- To by means of statistical methods account for risk management and draw conclusions from risk analysis in quality assurance work
- On the basis of a technical problem profile choose statistical method/tool for problem-solving and plan for implementation; carry out, analyse and draw conclusions about the results and argue for the choice and the conclusions
- Communicate and explain statistical methods/tools/results and argue orally and in writing, in a clear way
- Explain and argue for quality statistics and risk management's effect for an efficient and successful work for development of world-class processes

Examination and completion

Grading scale
Examination
- SEM1 - Seminar, 4.0 credits, grading scale: P, F
- TEN1 - Examination, 5.0 credits, grading scale: A, B, C, D, E, FX, F
- ÖVN1 - Exercises, 6.0 credits, grading scale: P, F
Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.
The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.
Other requirements for final grade
The final grade of the course is largely based on results from the written examination of the course but is influenced by the execution of practical assignments and seminar assignments.
