Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

In connection with a number of lectures, the course participants will meet students with degrees from KTH, KI and other higher education institutions who have become successful entrepreneurs to learn from their personal experiences and be inspired by their examples. Basic law and patent law etc. that are relevant to an entrepreneur will be presented in separate lectures. All course participants will be able to present a short business plan based on their own idea in writing and orally.

Intended learning outcomes

After the course, the participants will gain an understanding of the conditions and opportunities of entrepreneurship. A basic orientation in business acumen will be given and especially how this can be successfully combined with technical competence. It is also a goal that the course through successful examples should show the possibilities and act as a source of inspiration for the participants to self-employment. The course will sow seeds for business ideas and the participants will develop these in a first stage.

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.

The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.

If the course is discontinued, students may request to be examined during the following two academic years.

Other requirements for final grade

Approved oral and written presentation of assignment.

  • In an oral assessment, every student shall be able to present and answer questions about the entire assignment and solution.
