CH212V Visual ergonomics – risk assessment and development 2.5 credits

Do colleagues complain of headaches? Do you bend forward to see better most of your working time? Perhaps the lighting conditions could be improved? In this course we go through the cause and effect of poor lighting conditions and how they can be improved. We review rules and laws as well as measurement methods for evaluation and develop measures for risk minimization. SCHEDULE 2026: The course is given as on-line seminars Thursdays 1 pm - 3 pm early spring. Preparation for these is needed for active participation in the seminars. Welcome!

Content and learning outcomes

Course disposition

The course is given entirely remotely with teacher-led meetings on-line in the form of seminars. These include lectures and discussions. Before the seminars, video and written material is studied. The seminars are therefore mandatory and require active participation. In addition to this, the course includes an assignment, literature studies, a project work presented during a seminar and a written home exam.

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.

The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.
