Newly admitted degree programme students

Congratulations on your admission to KTH! Exciting times await you, and we look forward to meeting you on campus. It's now time to start preparing your move to Stockholm. To help you out, we've put together the most important steps to take.

Introduction to studies at KTH

Meet the KTH team supporting your success from day one. Get guided through everything from course registration and exams to career support and student life in Sweden.

Prepare for your KTH Arrival

From 3 August until the start of studies on 24 August, visit KTH Entré to activate your KTH account and gain access to KTH's digital and physical infrastructure. We recommend arriving on one of our official Arrival Days , when additional services and exceptional vibes await. If you're enrolled in the Pre-sessional English for master's students  course, aim to arrive on 3 August, otherwise, 15 or 16 August are your ideal dates. This gives you time to settle in and enjoy the optional introduction activities before studies begin. If you are studying the bachelor's programme you need to arrive on time to attend the mandatory roll-call on 10 August.

Exemption form for master's students

The autumn semester at KTH starts on 24 August. If you cannot arrive by this date, you must fill out our exemption form no later than 24 August.

Start your studies at KTH

You have finally activated your KTH account and are now starting your studies at KTH. Your first important step as a new student is to register for courses. You must register in order to access the course in KTH's learning platform Canvas, register for exams, and have your results reported. So do not miss it!

Deferment of studies

If you have been admitted to a programme or a course but cannot begin your studies, you can apply for deferment. Admitted students may be granted deferment of the start of their studies if there are specific grounds. The majority of courses and programmes at KTH start once a year. Deferment of studies is therefore normally granted for one year.
