The final preparations for your studies abroad

Before you leave KTH, you need to solve some practical issues, such as finding accommodation. You also need to bring some documents. Don't forget to register your exchange period in Ladok.

Accommodation abroad

Many exchange universities help you find accommodation, for example, by referring you to agencies or landlords you can contact. Sometimes, finding accommodation is entirely up to you as a student. The host universities usually offer information on finding accommodation on their websites. Ensure you have found somewhere to live for at least your first few weeks before departure.

There are many tips online on avoiding being scammed when looking for accommodation abroad. Study the tips and dare to seek help from other students with experience.

Registration at KTH

You must register for your exchange period in the service Ladok for students . Select the option "Exchange commitment 30 credits". If you receive student finance from The Swedish Board of Student Finance (CSN), the Ladok registration will also be visible to them. If you are going on exchange studies for a full academic year, you can register again for the next semester. You will be able to register approximately one month before the start of the host university's semester. You can contact your school's international coordinator if you have any questions.

KTH International Buddy Program

Would you like to have a mentor during your exchange? As a student and mentee in the KTH International Buddy Program, you are offered a unique opportunity to have a local mentor during your studies abroad. The mentorship aims to give you a safer and more rewarding stay abroad.
