Course development

New examples videos and questions were made available during the previous edition of the course and the current students were the first to have those available from the start.

Project groups were pre-selected to mix students who graduated from the KTH bachelor's programme with those who did not, in order to avoid creating groups with vastly different backgrounds and compositions, as well as ensuring that at least one member from each group had experience with the KTH library and other resources at KTH. A voluntary supervision session was introduced with a PhD student to assist groups with their projects and ensure reasonably early progress well before the project deadline. Lectures were run in the same way as 2021, as the approach was deemed successful by the students.

Sustainable development and gender equality are examined in all parts of the group project; project groups are assigned randomly; additional practice material has been written.

Additional lectures on gender issues and research techniques; new main teacher; some lectures converted to distance format; reduced number of mandatory sessions to two with remainder now voluntary but highly recommended; created more example and practice problems for students to use as learning tools; overhauled Canvas site for course.
