Project description
Energy planning is an important tool towards sustainable development. Sweden's municipalities, through their broad and comprehensive activities play a key role in climate and energy work. Recent studies show that the work of local energy plans and associated environmental assessment needs to be reformed to become more effective. The proposed project aims at investigating new forms of municipal energy planning and associated environmental assessment and to develop proposals for how the municipal energy plan can be an active and effective part in the strategic municipal planning so that work on energy issues can be strengthened. That will contribute to make energy plans more proactive in planning for sustainable development. The intention is to make municipal energy plans that engage and which meets the requirements of the environmental quality objectives and generation goal and is an effective tool in planning and municipal energy management.
