AD208V International History of Architectural Conservation 7.5 credits

The theory and history of architectural conservation on an international level is conveyed through a series of lectures. Course literature is discussed and examined at seminars. An individual assignment, which deals with course literature and an optional case study, is included in the course.

The objective of the course is to convey basic knowledge of the history and theory of architectural restoration during the 19th and 20th century in Europe and the world. One important focus is the discourse on World Heritage.

• 60 hp university studies within architecture, architectural conservation or humanities
• Documented proficiency in Swedish B and English A or equivalent

Literature is announced at course start.

If the course is discontinued, students may request to be examined during the following two academic years.

• MOM1 - 75% Participation, - credits, grading scale: P, F
• TEN1 - Examination, 7.5 credits, grading scale: P, F

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.

The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.

To obtain the grade passed on the whole course, both moments have to be passed.
