Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

Principles, theories and applications concerning SEA and EIA
Spatial problems and cumulative impacts.

GIS-based tools, expert systems and decision support systems, including GIS-based habitat models, hydrological models, multi-criteria analysis and participative GIS

Intended learning outcomes

After completion of the course, the participants should

  1. have knowledge on principles and concepts concerning Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA),
  2. have knowledge on different SEA- and EIA related methods and tools, in particular related to Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and
  3. have gained skills in the use of GIS-based tools.
