The degree project encompasses seminars and lectures focusing on research method, literature review and search, and writing reports. During the project, a report is written, which is presented orally, and students will act as opponents on other student reports. The degree project is either carried out individually or in pairs. Students are supervised continuously.

Specific prerequisites
In general, at least 120 credits, out of which 60 credits of specialization within the subject area, should be completed before a student can register for the degree project.The examiner is responsible for making sure that the student has the appropriate amount of specialized credits and the proper amount of total credits. Exemptions can be made in certain cases, decided by the director of undergraduate and masters' studies. The degree project is normally expected to be carried out during the last semester of the program.
