Content and learning outcomes
Course contents
Doing Research in Economics; Literature search; Guest lecture – introduction to the Nordic real estate market; The Nordic real estate market – which data is available and where can we find it; Data analysis: the essentials of linear regression; Writing Research Proposals; Presentation of proposals and feedback
Intended learning outcomes
The goal of this course is to prepare participants to carry out real estate research in the Nordic market. After this course, participants will be able to:
-Differentiate between various research designs in real estate research
-Explain the steps in designing a research project
-Search for research literature from the major real estate research databases in the Nordic region
-Identify the data requirements and the appropriate analytical methods involved in different types of real estate research
-Write a proposal on a topic related to the Nordic real estate market

Specific prerequisites
Completion of year 1 courses in the Real Estate Management programme at KTH or equivalent
Recommended prerequisites
All the year-1 courses in the Real Estate Management programme or equivalent.

Examination and completion
If the course is discontinued, students may request to be examined during the following two academic years.
Grading scale
Examination
- PRO1 - Report, 2.5 credits, grading scale: A, B, C, D, E, FX, F
- SEM1 - Seminar, 2.0 credits, grading scale: A, B, C, D, E, FX, F
Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.
The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.
Other requirements for final grade
Requirements for final grade is pass in writing a research proposal and pass in giving a presentation
Opportunity to complete the requirements via supplementary examination
Opportunity to raise an approved grade via renewed examination
