Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

Lectures and tutorials are combined and related to a project exercise regarding a genuine infrastructure project. The course deals with several main themes:

System perspective

  • Theoretical foundations of planning- and concession systems, and distribution systems regarding common facilities
  • Legal coordination between different regulations
  • International conventions and EU law

Permissibility procedures

  • Legal rules and procedures connected to complex alterations of land use, e.g. roads, railways, water and sewage constructions, cables and pipelines for different purposes

Distribution of responsibility

  • Methods for co-operation

The responsibility for constructing, managing and financing common facilities.

Intended learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to provide a deeper knowledge about legal rules and procedures connected to planning and implementation of complex infrastructure projects.

The course participators should be able to apply existing rules as well as account for their legal design from a critical perspective.

Land Development besides Law of Real Property Formation.

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.

The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.

If the course is discontinued, students may request to be examined during the following two academic years.
