Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

- Presentation and critical review of project reports, draft articles and dissertation chapters produced within the research school TRANSPLACE (Transformation in the interface of planning). 

- Co-creative analysis and reflection on challenges of sustainability transformation in urban planning practice. 

- Constructive development of reasoning about the challenges and opportunities of the practice-oriented methods used in the research school TRANSPLACE.

Intended learning outcomes

After passing the course, the student should be able to:

- demonstrate and discuss challenges in sustainability transformation in urban planning practice,

- demonstrate the ability to critically reflect on their own research practice, 

- demonstrate the ability to assess and critically review scientific texts and project reports, 

- demonstrate the ability to critically review and compare different forms of practice-oriented methods.

Specific prerequisites

General entry requirements for doctoral studies and admission to doctoral studies in planning and decision analysis.  Eligibility in English 6/English B.

  • PRE1 - Presentation of paper/chapter/drafts, 2.0 credits, grading scale: P, F
