Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

The course consists of active participation in an academic context, such as a conference or a scientific publication, with relevance for doctoral studies in art, technology and design.

Intended learning outcomes

After the course, the student should be able to

• present a delimited part of his/her research work in an academic context (by participating with, or publishing, a paper at a conference / scientific journal)

• account for the relevant theoretical framework, method, discourse or similar of the work presented  

• critically reflect over this in relation to research in general

• discuss the relation to and relevance for the student's own research work

Specific prerequisites

To be eligible for the course, students must have completed a masters´ degree or have an equivalent level of education in technology, art or design (such as architecture, planning, civil engineering, design, arts and crafts, or fine arts) or affiliated subjects within the humanities and social sciences.
