The course is designed to introduce research students at the early stage of their study to appropriate concepts, approaches, tools and methods to conduct research in the area of transport science. The course builds on the corresponding Part 1 course, now by having students apply the concepts from Part 1 in a series of four reflections and critiques of recent published and presented research.

Intended learning outcomes
After finishing the course, the student shall be able to:
- Critique an alternate methodology in one's own subject of research.
- ritique an alternate subject area where one's own methodology is applied.
- Reflect on new directions in one's own field of research and how the field is reacting to those new directions.
- Critique one's own methodology in light of the previous three reflections.

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.
