Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

The course consists of seminars where the students explain the background of their research project and discuss recent results and future plans. All participants actively.

Intended learning outcomes

The participants should

  • Be able to present and discuss own research results and future plans to colleagues in the same scientific field.

  • Be able to participate in the discussion of others research projects and challenges within the field of research and contribute to suggestions for solutions.

  • Know about the role as a chair person of a research seminar.

    PhD students in the biotechnology doctoral program with research activities in the Biocatalysis research field during the first year of studies

Examination

    Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.

    The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.

    If the course is discontinued, students may request to be examined during the following two academic years.

    Other requirements for final grade

    The student should give two seminars and participate in at least 80% of the scheduled occasions during two semesters. Each student should serve as chairman at a seminar at least once.
