FLF3018 Digital transformation 3.5 credits

The course Digital Transformation is for doctoral students. This course consists of self-study elements and online meetings, including forum discussions. The main objective of the course is to provide opportunities for participants to learn and explore how digitalization can contribute to the implementation of the UN sustainable development goals – to trigger transformation for sustainable development. The course includes topics such as: Sustainable development, Initiatives for co-created courses and research on topics such as the Green Deal, Climate Change and Energy, to mention a few, combined with building capacity on digital transformation, DT, and how inclusive digital transformation can contribute to better meet the Sustainable Development Goals.

The course is based on selected literature and active participation in online seminars and forum discussions. To write two assignments and do peer reviewing are mandatory in order to pass the course. The forum discussions and meetings are important aspects and will help you to achieve the learning objectives. Main topics in the course are 1) digital transformation and sustainable development, and 2) digital transformation for sustainable development implemented through projects.

This course runs online and places are LIMITED. Deadline for application is Tuesday, 7 February 2023.

Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

The course is based on selected literature and active participation in video meetings and forum discussions. To participate in video meetings and forum discussions are important to be able to reach the intended learning outcomes. A central part of the course is to carry out written assignments and give feedback to another students.
Main subjects in the course are digital transformation, sustainable development with special specialisation in application in project.

Intended learning outcomes

After passing the course, the student should be able to:

  • Describe digital transformation in an organisational context.
  • Describe how digital transformation can be related to sustainability and can hasten the attainment of the goals for sustainable development.
  • Identify and analyse appropriate scientific and other resources about digital transformations and sustainable development.
  • Describe the relationship between the strategies of an organisation and their effect on selection, priority and supervision of a project.
  • Describe how digital transformation for sustainable development can be carried out through project.
