Intended learning outcomes
After passing the course, the student should be able to:
- argue for the importance of permanent improvements
- tackle technical problems in a systematic way
- explain methods and philosophies for improvements and compare their applicability
- choose statistical tools from a given problem profile and plan for implementation, carry out, anlayse and draw conclusions about the results and argue for the choices/conclusions
- communicate and explain statistical tools/results and arguments orally and in writing, in a clear way

Specific prerequisites
For students admitted to the TIMAS programme: the course ML1113 or the equivalent.
For all other students: General entry requirements and 5 credits of basic statistics, or the equivalent

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.
