Course syllabus HM108L (Spring 2013–)Content and learning outcomes
Course disposition
Course contents
Ductile and shearing machining, stock removal, jointing methods, technics of measurement, production theories, quality systems and production management. Furthermore, a group assignment is included, where a specific product is to be developed or improved and finally being adapted to existing production methods.
Intended learning outcomes
The main purpose of the course is that the student will have basic knowledge of common industrial manufacturing processes, focusing on aspects of design and economy. The student will have knowledge of industrial quality systems, production management and quality management in use in production industry.
After the course the student will be able to:
- Describe production processes described during the course
- Describe quality systems, systems for quality management and production management systems
- Suggest product development, product improvement and product adaptation to production methods.

Knowledge corresponding to requirements to the programme for Ekonomi, Teknik och Design at Södertörns högskola and HM105L Material- och produktionsteknik basic course.
