The main themes of the course are:
- Introduction and review of the basic technology of generative AI, from an educational and ethical perspective.
- AI literacy: create, evaluate and improve AI-generated materials.
- Student perspectives on generative AI; create learning resources with the support of generative AI.
- Assessment and examination in relation to generative AI.
The aim of the course is to give participants the opportunity to develop knowledge, skills and abilities to use generative AI tools in their own teaching practice. A central theme in the course is the ability to create and evaluate materials created with the help of generative AI, from an educational and ethical perspective.
After passing the course, the participant should be able to:
- Give an overview of the technology behind generative AI, and identify and reflect on the strengths and weaknesses of the technology from a learning perspective.
- Use generative AI tools to develop learning resources, respond to legislation and guidelines, and reflect on ethical aspects of their own use.
- Describe how generative AI can be used as a tool to support students' learning, and reflect on pedagogical advantages and disadvantages.
- Identify potential risks associated with assessment and generative AI, and reflect on how to handle such risks.
