Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

Planning, assessment and grading are dealt with in accordance with the school's governing documents.

This includes practical exercises where, for example, constructive linking with goal formulation is applied in the design of learning activities and various forms of assessment criteria.

Summative and formative assessment as tools in teaching are discussed, as is the use of physical and digital learning resources.

The content also covers how subject teaching can integrate sustainable development and enable students to develop subject literacy.

Intended learning outcomes

After completing the course, students should be able to:

1 Discuss how different forms of assessment can be applied to evaluate students' knowledge in the subjects of technology, mathematics and/or physics, chemistry.
2 Describe and give examples of subject-specific aspects of assessment and grading, and how different forms of assessment can be applied in practice to evaluate students' knowledge.
3 Describe how both analogue and digital teaching materials and other learning resources can be used, evaluated and integrated into subject teaching in practice.
4 Describe, discuss and problematise specific content in subject teaching with a focus on sustainable development.
5 Describe how subject teaching can be designed to help pupils develop subject literacy.

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability. The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students. If the course is discontinued, students may request to be examined during the following two academic years.
