Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

The course focuses on a project assignment similar to the work of a technical consultant. The project assignment is performed in groups of 2-4 students.

Intended learning outcomes

The course shall give the students

  • A good understanding of the future profession as a civil engineer and its complex mix of technology – economy – leadership
  • An over view of Swedish technical and industrial processes and structures and future industrial dynamics
  • An ability to analyse problems from different theoretical angels
  • An understanding of leadership in technical and industrial processes of change

Examination

  • PRO1 - Project, 4.0 credits, grading scale: A, B, C, D, E, FX, F
  • TEN1 - Examination, 2.0 credits, grading scale: A, B, C, D, E, FX, F

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.

The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.

If the course is discontinued, students may request to be examined during the following two academic years.

Other requirements for final grade

  1. Project assignment (in a group of 2-4 students) and an individual opposition (written and oral) on the project of another group
  2. Individual home examination based on the course literature
