The participants will carry out a scientific work, where it is included to collect, describe and analyse data with appropriate research method. The results should be discussed in relation to earlier and future research, as well as analyse weaknesses and strengths in own and others' research.
The work should be presented orally and in writing.
After passing the course, the student should be able to:
- Describe various research methods of both qualitative and quantitative nature
- Apply various research methods of both qualitative and quantitative nature. Examples of these methods are mean value comparisons (t-test and ANOVA) and multiple regression analysis. Examples of methods for qualitative analysis are text analysis and open coding
- Choose research methods that are relevant for different types of research studies
- Explain and discuss the weaknesses and strengths of various research methods
- Demonstrate analytical and critical thinking
- Apply KTH ethics for copying and citation of others' work
