Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

Introductory probability theory
Use concepts in describing statistics and illustrate data in different diagrams by means of software
Multi-factor analysis
Experimental design

Intended learning outcomes

After passing the course, the student should be able to:

1. Use statistical tools and methods to analyse large amounts of data

2. Draw conclusions of the analysis and communicate these as part of a basis for a decision

3. Apply statistical methods as support for basic development processes in the industry.

Examination

  • KON1 - Partial exam, 1.5 credits, grading scale: A, B, C, D, E, FX, F
  • LAB1 - Laboratory work, 1.5 credits, grading scale: A, B, C, D, E, FX, F

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.

The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.

If the course is discontinued, students may request to be examined during the following two academic years.
