Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

The course is project oriented with focus on environmental problems such as eutrophication, organic pollutants, oil pollutants or climate change. Studies are focused on scientific methods, up to date research problems and different environmental strategies. An important part of the course is based on independent group projects and literature work.

Intended learning outcomes

After a passed course the students should be able to:

  • Implement an analyze and critical study of an specified environmental problem.
  • Plan and suggest a scientific field sampling.
  • Critically analyze environmental data.
  • Search and critically validate scientific literature related to a specific environmental problem.
  • Write a scientific report that also should be presented orally.

Previous knowledge is assumed to be equal to MJ2652 or MJ2651 or MJ2623 or MJ2626 or 3C1356 or 3C1345 or 3C1347.

Literature

The course literature will focus on the environmental problem that the course will focus on. An important part of the literature is also the project reports that will be produced during the course and notes from the lectures.
