Space Waves and a Tale: on exhibit at the main library

These days when passing by the KTH main library, there is an eye-catching booth right next to the main entrance. It is an event related to the Nobel Calling Week series: an exhibition about Hannes Alfvén titled “Space Waves and a Tale“.

Books and publications by Hannes Alfvén

Born in 1908 in Norrköping, Hannes Alfvén was a Swedish electrical engineer and plasma physicist who received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1970. Since 1940, he has become a professor in theoretical electromagnetic theory and electrical measurements at KTH.

During his career, Alfvén made several fundamental theoretical discoveries. He is best known for having founded and developed the concept of magnetohydrodynamics (MHD), also known as Alfvén waves.

Interactive zone for thoughts and comments

Apart from the introduction slideshow and panels, books and publications by Alfvén, original items that are connected to his writing and research, as well as his childhood objects, are also being displayed in the exhibition. This event is running from now till 16 December 2022. So feel free to check it out!
