Newly admitted degree programme students

Congratulations on your admission to KTH! Exciting times await you, and we look forward to meeting you on campus. It's now time to start preparing your move to Stockholm. To help you out, we've put together the most important steps to take.

Next steps after admission

Your admission result will be published in your account at University Admissions  on 26 March. Here you will also find an explanation of the different admission results . If admitted, non-EU students should pay their first tuition fee, apply for a residence permit, and arrange housing through KTH Housing. EU and Swedish students can instead begin searching for housing independently. If you need support, we also offer webinars and events to guide you through the key steps on your journey to KTH.

Pay the first instalment of your tuition fee

If you need to pay a tuition fee to KTH, you will find payment information at Ladok for students within a week of being admitted.

Payment of tuition fees

Apply for a residence permit

If you are not a citizen of an EU/EEA country, you need to apply for a residence permit. We provide guidance on what you need to prepare before you apply.

Find housing

It's time for you to start looking for a place to stay. Some student groups are guaranteed housing through KTH Housing, while others need to find housing on their own .

Make sure you have the right insurance

All KTH students are insured on campus and when travelling to and from KTH. Make sure you also have medical insurance for off-campus situations.

Apply for our language courses

We offer pre-sessional courses in English and Swedish. Some students are given priority to a place in these courses, but everyone can apply.

Join the KTH community and events

Through our digital and in-person events — and our community on the Goin app — you can meet other students, get hands-on support, and dive deeper into the guides on our website.

Prepare your arrival at KTH

From 3 August until the start of studies on 24 August, visit KTH Entré to activate your KTH account and gain access to KTH's digital and physical infrastructure. We recommend arriving on one of our official Arrival Days , when additional services and exceptional vibes await. If you're enrolled in a pre-sessional language course, aim to arrive on 3 August, otherwise, 15 or 16 August are your ideal dates. This gives you time to settle in and enjoy the optional introduction activities before studies begin.

Arrival Days give you the smoothest start

We offer official Arrival days on 3, 15 and 16 August. During these days, we'll meet you at the airport and make sure you get settled on campus.
