Det viktigaste innehållet i kursen i produktutveckling är studentens val av ett projektämne som tagits in i kursen, vilket kan komma från en mängd olika sverigebaserade industrier. Vid genomförandet av projektet kommer du att visa din förståelse för nästan allt tidigare kursarbete och utveckla en djupare förståelse för vikten av att kvalificera på ett tekniskt sätt kundbehov och fördelar, produktfunktion, produktdesign och tekniska egenskaper och beskriva ett lämpligt medel av att realisera projektet ämnesresultat med tanke på hållbar produktutveckling.

Efter godkänd kurs ska studenten kunna 

• utarbeta och verkställa en projektplan för ett produktutvecklingsprojekt
• redogöra för betydelsen av lagarbete och samverkan i mångdisciplinära och mångkulturella projektgrupper
• identifiera och utvärdera sitt eget beteende i arbetsgrupper och relatera detta till arbetsgruppens dynamik
• värdera nya teknikområden samt kunna beskriva de förändringar som den tekniska utvecklingen medför samhället
• identifiera, prioritera och tillämpa relevanta konstruktionsparametrar för produktutvecklingsarbetet
• muntligt, skriftligt och med hjälp av erforderliga fysiska modeller redovisa utfallet av ett produktutvecklingsprojekt
• identifiera och tillämpa olika förhållningssätt och ställningstaganden med avseende på etnicitet, mångfald, etik, och kön

Föreläsning

• En aktivitet (1 till 2 timmar) med kursinstruktören som introducerar olika ämne kopplade till projektets genomförandet.

Datorlabb

• Ett session (2 till 3 timmar) med kursläraren, där du kan ställa frågor om projektuppgiften och användning av olika datorstöd till projektet.

Projekt

• Tillsamans med andra människör utveckla och dokumentera en LEGO-modell av ett modulindelad produktionssystem.
• Tillsamans med andra människör genomför ett projektet följer ett projektbaserad produktdesign- och utvecklingsmodell.
• Student grupper skall få tillgång till projekt handledning från kurslärare.

Redovisning

• Muntliga presentationer av uppgiftsresultat / projektresultat framför en grupp studenter, med stöd av en powerpoint -presentation.
• Skriftilga förklarningar eller beskrivningar av uppgiftsresultat / projektresultat.

Exkursion

• En aktivitet som är plannerad att genomföras vid en KTH -anläggning utanför KTH Södertälje.

Course Examination / Kursexamination

• The course is designed and planned for each student to acquire, for their individual comprehension, the content of the course for application in solving the tasks presented during the course, which are used to assess the student's fulfillment of the course Learning Objectives.
• All activities in the course are designed to engage the Learning Outcomes. Every scheduled course activity will be used for the examination of the student during the course according to the Assessment Criteria described in this Course Synopsis and published in the course on the Canvas LMS.
• The execution of the project planned for the course is based on the development of an artifact (i.e. a Technical System), which must be the result of a collaboration of all the student members of the project team.
• Students will be assigned to a project team by the Course Responsible teacher before the start of the project.
• The student is individually responsible for their participation in the project team. If a student fails to adequately participate in the project, they will be excluded from the project group and commensurately receive an "F" for PROA in the course.
• Students are expected to demonstrate in the project all the Learning Outcomes previously fulfilled during their coursework at KTH Södertälje, up to and including the current term and period.
• Canvas LMS (kth.instructure.com) will be used by all project groups to administrate any and all project materials, with the exception of any documentations made using Creo Parametric with Windchill.

Project and Assignments / Projekt och övningar (PROA)

• Participation in every scheduled activity in the course is required for successful completion of the project, PROA, in the course.
• You will execute, with a team other students in the course, a product development and design project in which you will apply all the knowledge you have acquired in your education to date.
• You will be required to learn during this project two additional computer base applications that are used to design and develop product concepts; Creo Parametric, PTC WIndchill and Lego Mindstorms EV3.
• The project will be planed by the team of students to follow the KTH Södertälje ProjectBase template.
• Individual assessment of student performance will be applied in PROA.
• Guidelines for the proper execution of this project following this project template will be outlined in the Project Synopsis (Swedish; ProjektPM) and clarified during the course.
• The final grade for the course block is A to F. Some activities that are planned for execution in the course block may be assessed as P / F according to the Assessment Criteria and applied towards the final grade in the course.

Skriftlig och/eller muntliga redovisningar (REDA)

• There will be a range of different activities that will be used to assess your development during the course.
• Some of the activities planned for this course block are in relation to the project and others are in relation to your individual comprehension of the course content designed to engage the course Learning Objectives.
• The final grade for the course block is A to F. Some activities in planned for execution in the course block will be assessed as P / F according to the Assessment Criteria and applied towards the final grade in the course.

• Bedömningskriterier baseras på de uppgifter som används för att uppfylla lärandemålen i kursen. Se avsnittet Lärandemål och/eller matriser i Canvas för specifik information om dessa bedömningskriterier.
• Observera att bedömningskriterier som är relevanta för en kursuppgift kommer att visas i matrisen för den uppgiften.

• Fx kan kompletteras till E men vid F så får man återkomma vid omtentamensperiod eller nästa kursomgång.
• Komplettering kommer att beaktas när den är motiverade av studenten eller examinator i relation till ett lärandemål och/eller betygskriterier.

• Plussningsuppgift kommer att beaktas när de motiveras av studenten i förhållande till ett lärandemål i kursen.
• Kursuppgifter får inte användas för att plussa betyget.
• Studenten måste utarbeta sin egen arbetsbeskrivning som tydligt identifierar hur de
  kommer att förbättra sina prestanda med avseende på ett givet lärandemål.
• När uppgiften har godkänts av examinator för att börja av studenten måste den vara
  avslutad och skickas in för granskning innan nästa kursperiod börjar.

• Bedömningsresultat som visas i Canvas-avsnittet Omdömen är inte de slutliga resultaten som representera din prestation i uppfylladet av lärandemål i kursen. Bedömningsresultat som visas i Canvas är beräknade av Canvas enligt Betygsskalan (se sektionen nedanför sida, Betygsskalan).
• Betyg rapporterade till LADOK kommer aldrig vara lägre än bedömningsresultatet som visas i Canvas.
• Resultaten som visas i LADOK är det officiella uttalandet om din prestation under kursen.
• Dina slutliga resultat för kursen kommer att rapporteras till LADOK inom 15 arbetsdagar efter avslutad examinationen i kursen.

• Vid grupparbete har alla i gruppen ansvar för gruppens arbete.
• Vid examination ska varje student ärligt redovisa hjälp som erhållits och källor som använts.
• Vid muntlig examination ska varje student kunna redogöra för hela uppgiften och hela lösningen.
