Content and learning outcomes
Course contents
Intended learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student shall be able to:
- Explain land-use planning from a local authority perspective and describe the content of a master plan and a detailed development plan.
- Identify and compare aspects of Swedish architectural history relating to urban planning and residential architecture.
- Present and apply laws and regulations relevant to housing planning.
- Apply acquired knowledge of sustainable development to the planning of a city block comprising multi-family dwellings.
- Creatively investigate how architectural quality in a dwelling, the building’s structure, and building and installation technology influence housing planning, and apply this knowledge in a design project
- Present proposals and analyses orally and in writing, using drawings, photographs and illustrations.
