  • Innovation processes and innovation ecosystems in the construction and real estate sector
  • Management and organization of processes relating to knowledge management, learning, innovation and change especially in real estate owner firms, consultancy firms and construction contractors
  • Innovation in building projects and innovation projects
  • Procurement and innovation
  • Innovation and learning relating to goals for social, environmental and economic sustainability
  • Apply the course contents in a project assignment

Intended learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to prepare students for planning, managing, and participating in processes related to knowledge development, learning, innovation and change within, and in collaboration between, firms and other organizations in the built environment. After the course, students should be able to:

  • Describe, analyse and evaluate theories and models for knowledge development, learning, innovation and change, and apply such theories and models to suggest strategies for specific situations in the construction and real estate sector, considering goals for social, environmental and economic sustainability.
  • Search for, cite, integrate, analyze, evaluate and suggest research-based literature in the field covered in the course.
