Course contents

The course contains several activities. These activities are to result in developing the research abilities and broaden the student's knowledge.

Intended learning outcomes

The goal of the course is to introduce the students to basics in research methods and means of communication. After taking the course the students shall:

- have knowledge about how to work in groups within a research environment even when there are several different research fields represented.

- have the basics knowledge of how to write and critically evaluate scientific articles; critically evaluate their own and others work in a constructive and positive way.

- have knowledge and experience in oral presentation of their research and experience in acting as opponent of other students who present their research either at master, licentiate or PhD seminars.

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.

Other requirements for final grade

The examination consists of an oral presentation by the student to the examiner; one to two hours oral presentation. The students are to present what they have done within the scope of the course and give an explanation of how the activities have strengthened and lead to reaching the goals of the course.
