Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

The course consists of the assignment for the participants to search, describe, analyse, summarize and evaluate the published research in a delimited subject area, connected to their thesis subjects, respectively. Each participant shall also write, and present during a seminar, a publishable literature review.

Intended learning outcomes

The comprehensive aim of the course is for the participants to learn how to write a literature review in a specific subject area.

Course Disposition

The course is conducted as literature studies, analysis, and a written literature review. During the initial part of the course, a few seminars are held, dealing with objective, structure, content etc. in previously published literature reviews. The course concludes with seminar presentations of the participant's own projects.

Specific prerequisites

Initiated post graduate studies in the disciplines of real estate planning, land law or real estate economics.

The literature consists of general articles on the design and implementation of literature reviews. As a part of the course requirements, the participants shall search relevant literature within their subject areas, respectively. Some suggestions of reference literature will be announced at course start.

Examination and completion

If the course is discontinued, students may request to be examined during the following two academic years.

  • UPP1 - Written report, 5,0 hp, betygsskala: P, F

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.

The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.
