Course contents
Intended learning outcomes
After passing the course, the students should be able to:
- apply the main principles of scientific writing
- apply effective rhetorical strategies to produce clear and precise writing in English
- use source material according to scientific and engineering standards
- produce and adapt written texts for specific STEM audiences and purposes
- argue persuasively for a research idea, with reference to published research
- edit and format text to publication standards.

Examination and completion
If the course is discontinued, students may request to be examined during the following two academic years.

- INL1 - Written assignment, 2.0 credits, grading scale: P, F
Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.
The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.
Other requirements for final grade
75% attendance. All written assignments passed.
Opportunity to complete the requirements via supplementary examination
