Intended learning outcomes
To get an insight into prominent interdisciplinary biomedical research at KTH and SJTU, into differences and similarities between Swedish and Chinese research methodology and culture, into how new technologies can tackle future challenges in medical healthcare in Sweden and in China, and to create contacts across the disciplines and nations.
Literature and preparations
Specific prerequisites
Admitted to PhD studies at KTH, or last year student at any of the Civ Ing or Masters programs at KTH directed towards interdisciplinary biomedicine in a broad sense.
Recommended prerequisites
At least three years full time studies within an education program at KTH, relevant for medical and biomedical technology
Equipment
No specific requirements. Study visits at selected research laboratories will be a part of the course.
Literature
Each lecturer of the course will be asked to provide a scientific article or review article reflecting the content of the lecture.
Examination and completion
If the course is discontinued, students may request to be examined during the following two academic years.

Examination
Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.
The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.
Oral presentation + short written report from the course

Attending all lectures and study visits. oral presentation of own research, or of other recently published, relevant interdisciplinary biomedical research. Short written summary with own reflections from the course.
