Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

The course will provide participants with practical insights into a number of issues related to entrepreneurial finance, including:

− Evaluations of business plans,

− Financial analysis and evaluation of financial ratios,

− Sources of funding,

− Valuation,

− Structuring of business agreements,

− Exit options.

Intended learning outcomes

After passing the course, the student shall be able to:

1. Describe concepts and terminology related to entrepreneurial funding,

2. Identify and describe the sources of funding available for different types of technology-based entrepreneurial companies,

3. Develop and conduct fundamental analyses of financial statements and forecasts,

4. Develop and conduct a basic economic valuation of a technology-based entrepreneurial company,

5. Explain how contractual terms between entrepreneurs and external investors can be organised,

6. Identify and analyse different exit opportunities for technology-based entrepreneurial companies.
