Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

The course provides participants with practical insights into a number of issues related to entrepreneurial financing, including:

− Evaluations of business plans,

− Business valuation, including financial analysis and evaluation of key financial ratios

− Sources of funding, structuring of business agreements and exit strategies for technology-based companies.

Intended learning outcomes

After passing the course, the student shall be able to:

1. Describe concepts and terminology related to entrepreneurial funding,

2. Identify and describe the sources of funding available for different types of technology-based entrepreneurial companies,

3.​ Conduct a fundamental analysis of a technology-based company based on its public financial reports and forecasts,

4. Develop and conduct a basic economic valuation of a technology-based entrepreneurial company,

5. Explain how contractual terms between entrepreneurs and external investors can be organised,

6. Evaluate and compare different exit opportunities for technology-based entrepreneurial companies.

Fulfilled the requirements for Degree of Bachelor of Science.

Examination

  • PRO2 - Group project, 3.5 credits, grading scale: A, B, C, D, E, FX, F
  • PRO1 - Individual project, 4.0 credits, grading scale: A, B, C, D, E, FX, F

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.

The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.

If the course is discontinued, students may request to be examined during the following two academic years.

Other requirements for final grade

PRO1 and PRO2 have requirements of compulsory attendance.
