The course provides participants with practical insights into a number of issues related to entrepreneurial financing, including:
− Evaluations of business plans,
− Business valuation, including financial analysis and evaluation of key financial ratios
− Sources of funding, structuring of business agreements and exit strategies for technology-based companies.
After passing the course, the student shall be able to:
1. Describe concepts and terminology related to entrepreneurial funding,
2. Identify and describe the sources of funding available for different types of technology-based entrepreneurial companies,
3. Conduct a fundamental analysis of a technology-based company based on its public financial reports and forecasts,
4. Develop and conduct a basic economic valuation of a technology-based entrepreneurial company,
5. Explain how contractual terms between entrepreneurs and external investors can be organised,
6. Evaluate and compare different exit opportunities for technology-based entrepreneurial companies.
