Course contents

'Entrepreneurial Mindset' is an advanced course designed to enable students from any discipline to transform uncertainty into opportunity. By viewing complex problems through an entrepreneurial lens—an adaptable and effective framework originally developed for startups— the course provides participants with a structured approach to value creation. Recognizing that anyone can adopt an entrepreneurial mindset and that entrepreneurship transcends professions—whether you're a medical doctor, engineer, designer, artist, researcher or startup founder—this course is built around three core elements of the entrepreneurial method:

·         Self-leadership: Develop skills to guide yourself and others through changing environments.

·         Attracting Resources: Learn how to find, gather, and make use of available resources to support your goals and initiatives.

·         Co-creation and Collaboration: Work together with others to create new ideas and address complex challenges in a variety of professional settings.

Through interactive workshops, practical exercises, and reflective activities, participants will delve into these principles to understand how they can drive change and innovation, regardless of their professional background or area of study.

COURSE STRUCTURE AND ACTIVITIES

This course is designed with a blend of engaging in-class and out-of-class activities that promote active participation, collaborative learning, and the practical application of the entrepreneurial mindset across diverse professional contexts.

·         Five interactive, two-day workshops on themes such as Mindsetting, Improvisation, Ideation, Design Thinking, and Future Thinking. These workshops will be held at entrepreneurially-minded organizations or conference centres to foster a practical and immersive learning environment.

·         Out-of-Class, Individual Activities: Real-life exercises and personal reflection diaries to deepen understanding of core concepts and apply concepts in real-world scenarios.

·         Out-of-Class, Group Activities: Digital meetings and on-site study visits focused on demonstrating the application of entrepreneurial methods in various professional settings.

·         In-Class, Individual Activities: Optional co-teaching opportunities for selected students after the course, allowing them to further engage with the course content and develop teaching experience (especially relevant for those exploring an academic career).

Intended learning outcomes

After passing the course, the student should be able to:

3.      Evaluate strategies and practices used by professionals to foster innovation and manage uncertainty, demonstrating an understanding of how entrepreneurial principles can be adapted beyond traditional startup environments,
