About me

Muhammet S. Toprakis Professor of Materials Chemistry at KTH. His research group is focusing onnanoscale material -and interface design, nanoscale and functional characterization; design and development of novel nanomaterials architectures with desired characteristics; development of energy and resource effective high-throughput synthesis methods as well as detailed microstructural, physicochemical, thermo-physical and transport characterisations. Muhammet S. Toprak received his B.Sc. in Chemistry Education, M.Sc. on Inorganic Chemistry from the Middle East Technical University (METU, Ankara-Turkey) and his Ph.D. in Materials Chemistry at KTH- Department of Materials Science and Engineering, specializing inInorganic Materials ChemistryandNanotechonology. He worked as a Post-doctoral Fellow at the University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB, USA) on biomimetic assembly routes for the fabrication of highly ordered nanomaterials. He received the Docent title in 2009 and was appointed full Professor ofMaterials Chemistryin 2015. He is currently a staff member at the Department of Applied Physics, Bio-Opto-Nano Physics (BON). Currently his work is focusing on the design, fabrication, characterisation and application of nanomaterials for energy and biomedical applications. He is an active teacher and researcher, tutoring on nanomaterials, nanochemistry and characterisation focused courses in the international Master Program on Nanotechnology.
