Study Plan

The last two years in the engineering programme follow the same courses as existing master’s programmes. As a double degree student, you do not need to follow a master’s programme but it is a good idea if you take most courses from one since you should do your master’s degree project in that field. A guideline is to take most courses from the mandatory and the conditionally elective courses from one master’s programme.

The study plans can be found here:

Study Plan Physics (Eng. Physics and Nuclear)

Study Plan Vehicle (Eng. Mechanics, Vehicle Eng., Aerospace, Naval and Sustainable Energy Eng.)

Study Plan Mathematics(Applied Mathematics and Mathematics)

You can find updated information about the different master’s programmes that students in Engineering Physics and Vehicle Engineering can choose courses from here:

Physics: https://www.kth.se/student/kurser/program/TTFYM?l=en

Programme web: https://www.kth.se/social/program/ttfym/ (mainly information for students admitted to the Master's programme in Engineering Physics but some information can be relvant for you as a double degree student)

Sustainable Energy: https://www.kth.se/student/kurser/program/TSUEM?l=en

Students who will study the specialisation Sustainable Energy need to take the course MJ2510 Methods of research in sustainable energy 7.5 credits.

Nuclear: https://www.kth.se/student/kurser/program/TNEEM?l=en

Applied Math: https://www.kth.se/student/kurser/program/TTMAM?l=en

Minimum requirements in credit units for the double degree:

  • Technical/science courses  60 credits of technical courses (majority from your specialsation), including Theory and Methodology course and one of the following: SA2001 Sustainable development and research methodology in mathematics 3.0 credits, SA2002 Sustainable development and research methodology in engineering mechanics 3.0 credits or SA2003 Sustainable Development in Engineering Physics 1.5 credits.
  • Swedish language courses  4 levels and/or elective courses, 30 credits (optional)
For the double degree you need to pass the fourth level Swedish B1/B2. Please note that from the autumn 2022 the Swedish language courses will be optional.
