Presentation Letter

My name is Alejandro Cabral and I am a Structural Civil Engineer, graduated in 2005 after completing 6 years of courses in Facultad de Ingeniería de la Universidad de la República in Uruguay, which covered a field equivalent to Bachelor + Masters in Europe. I also have validated in Sweden my Uruguayan diploma as Swedish Civil Engineer.

By January 2014 I have completed all the compulsory courses (and some optional courses adding up to a total of 122,0 Credits) of a 2-year Masters program in Infrastructure Engineering, specializing in Roads/Railway Tracks/Bridges/Tunnels at the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden.

I have more than 15 years of experience in using AutoCAD, designing building and bridge projects according to Eurocodes, as well as Spanish (EHE), German (DIN) and American (ACI) codes. I am also experienced in using finite element modeling software such as Lusas, programming languages such as MatLab, and other calculation packages for reinforced concrete. I have also recently started using Microstation and Tekla.

I am a hardworking and enthusiastic individual with a positive and flexible attitude, who is committed to providing excellent services and open to change. I am also self-motivated with the ability to learn new things very fast while paying attention to details.

I have three citizenships, from Italy, Sweden & Uruguay, which let me move freely, reside and work in Europe, particularly Scandinavia, as well as in South America. I have worked in Uruguay, Ireland, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden, and Finland.

My mother tongue is Spanish and I also have a command of Chinese, English, German, Italian, Korean, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Russian, and Swedish. I have passed the official Chinese Language Exams HSK1-3, and I'm currently preparing myself for HSK4 taking place in 2021.

Keeping a fit mind could not be fully achieved without accompanying it with a fit body. Therefore, in October 2016, I put again in action my passion for Taekwondo. Having, by June 2020, passed to 2gub, and planning to get the black belt by December 2021.

I would like to join a good team, to which I could contribute with my experience and knowledge to any projects that come across, simultaneously developing my skills even further. I am, therefore, open to discuss any opportunities which may arise.
